Reliable over time

I've been using SimplePractice for about two years now. This last month I renewed my annual subscription after using the Mobile App for Practitioners more. The experience was smooth, just like previous years. The platform is consistent, and the Telehealth Platform has always worked well for my clients. It's why I keep coming back.

Good value for a new practice

I was looking for an EHR that wouldn't break the bank while I built up my client base. The 30-day free trial for SimplePractice was perfect. It let me set things up without rushing into a payment. The online booking and paperless intakes really save time. I definitely feel like I got good value for what I'm paying now. Worth the purchase for a startup.

Comprehensive features, good support

I signed up for SimplePractice a few months ago after comparing it to TherapyNotes. The ordering process was straightforward, just picked a plan and started the trial. I primarily use the Practice Management Software and the Insurance Billing Tools. Submitting CMS-1500 Forms has been much easier than my old system. The Client Portal is also a big plus; clients find it easy to use for scheduling. I had one question about ICD-10 Coding and used their support chat, got a clear answer within an hour, which was helpful. The only minor point is that sometimes the app can be a little slow to load on my older tablet, but on my desktop, it's perfectly fine. Overall, a solid platform for my practice.

Thinking about switching from TherapyNotes. How does SimplePractice compare, especially with the telehealth stuff?

N Noor E. 1 month ago
I used TherapyNotes for a bit, SP's telehealth is way more integrated imo. Plus, the client portal feels smoother for my clients.

SP has a pretty solid telehealth platform built right in. TN's is okay, but I found SP's whole system easier to navigate for scheduling and notes when doing video calls.

Is the mobile app actually good for practitioners? Like, can I do notes on the go or just check my schedule?

R Ryan Marsh 1 month ago
The mobile app is pretty decent! You can check your calendar, do quick notes, and even send secure messages. I wouldn't do super detailed notes on my phone, but it's great for emergencies or quick updates.

It's more than just a calendar. I've done progress notes and even managed a few client communications from it. Super handy if you're not always at your desk.

What's the deal with the free trial? Is it a full version for 30 days or limited features?

A Amber 1 month ago
It's a full 30-day free trial. You get access to everything, which is great for really testing it out before committing.

You get the full shebang for the trial period. No real limitations as far as I could tell when I tried it.

Is it really HIPAA compliant? I'm super paranoid about patient data.

S Shane 1 month ago
Yes, absolutely. That's one of their main selling points and why so many health professionals use it. They take HIPAA compliance very seriously.

A Andre 1 month ago
It is. They make a big deal about being HIPAA compliant, it's baked into their whole system for security and privacy.

If I pay annually, do I get a discount? Or is it the same price as paying monthly?

C Chris 1 month ago
They usually offer a discount if you pay annually. It's a common thing for SaaS companies to give you a break for committing for a year.

L Lisa G. 1 month ago
Yeah, there's definitely an annual billing discount. I went with that option and saved a bit over the monthly rate.

Does SimplePractice really help with insurance claims? Like, can I actually submit them directly through the platform or is it more like generating forms?

K Kevin S. 1 month ago
They totally handle insurance claims! You can submit CMS-1500 forms electronically right from the system. It's a huge time saver.

B Beth J. 1 month ago
Yeah, they have tools for it, you can generate and submit. It's not totally hands-off, you still gotta put in the right info, but it makes the process way easier than doing it all manually.

Anyone know about student discounts for SimplePractice? Trying to keep costs down while I'm still in school.

D Daisy 1 month ago
I heard they offer student discounts, but you usually have to confirm your student status. Check their site or ask support how to apply for it.

T Tom Okafor 1 month ago
Yeah, I think there's a student discount option. You might need a .edu email or some proof of enrollment. Worth looking into before you sign up for full price.

Can my clients actually book their own appointments through the system, or do I have to do it for them?

C Chris 1 month ago
Yep, that's a big plus. They can book appointments directly through the client portal. Saves a ton of back-and-forth.

My clients love being able to schedule themselves. You set your availability and they just pick a slot. Super easy.
